Reinforcement Bars

Deformed reinforcing bars

Rebars provide tensile strength to concrete members (slabs, beams, columns, foundations). Selection depends on grade, diameter, and compliance with the project’s design standard.

  • Grades: Common structural grades include 420–500 MPa yield (e.g., Grade 60 ≈ 420 MPa), with higher grades for optimized designs.
  • Diameters: ~10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40 mm (project specs may vary).
  • Rib Pattern: Deformed bars improve bond with concrete; straight bars and stirrups/ties for shear and confinement.
  • Cut & Bend: Supply in straight lengths or as cut-and-bent shapes to BBS (bar bending schedule).
  • Handling: Store off the ground, protect from contamination; clean rust/scale that affects bond.
  • Applications: RCC slabs, beams, columns, footings, raft foundations, retaining walls, bridges.
