LUXURY VINYL

The primary types of luxury vinyl are Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP), and Sheet Vinyl, distinguished by their appearance and shape. LVT offers a tile appearance, LVP mimics wood planks, and Sheet Vinyl provides large, seamless coverage. Within LVP and LVT, the core material further classifies products into three main types: WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) for a warmer feel, SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) for superior rigidity and durability, and Hybrid Core which combines both for balanced properties.
Types of Luxury Vinyl Flooring
- Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT): Designed to look like stone or tile; available in many styles; installs with adhesive or interlocking systems.
- Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP): Plank format replicating hardwood flooring.
- Sheet Vinyl: Traditional, large continuous sheets for seamless coverage.
Core Types (Primarily for LVP/LVT)
Wood Plastic Composite (WPC)
- Core: Blend of wood pulp and plastic composites.
- Characteristics: Softer, warmer underfoot; good sound insulation; forgiving on uneven subfloors.
- Best For: Areas where comfort and a slightly softer surface are desired.
Stone Plastic Composite (SPC)

- Characteristics: High rigidity; excellent impact and temperature resistance; extremely stable.
- Best For: High-traffic areas and situations prioritizing durability and dent resistance.
Hybrid Core
- Core: Multi-layer combination of WPC and SPC materials.
- Characteristics: Balances WPC comfort with SPC rigidity and stability; highly water resistant.
- Best For: Versatile installs seeking the best of both; may be more expensive.
